Doyle expected outside interest groups would target him in attack ads. “I can’t say I was not warned and didn’t know what I was getting into,” he said.
But that doesn’t mean the attacks don’t rankle. He can challenge the claims but prefers for now to stop short of launching any counterattack.
“People are mad, and they’re mad at both parties,” he said. “They just want the fighting to stop ... they want to see solutions, not finger-pointing.”
