Upd: Did Wisconsin recalls cost more or less than $137 million?

The paragraph below should resound very loudly if Democrats pull it off.  On the whole "The Wisconsin Voter", which the quote is from is always an interesting read.  The model is to present some facts and some interpretation.  In this particular column, Craig Gilbert, points out that this particular situation is extremely difficult to handicap.
In short, five of the six districts in play Tuesday are clearly GOP-leaning in their makeup. That’s no surprise. These are all Senate seats held by Republicans in a terrible GOP year (2008). The GOP advantage isn’t huge. It’s not big enough to make these districts “safe” for Republicans. But it’s real.
JSOnline: The Democrats' big challenge in Tuesday's Wisconsin recalls: winning on GOP turf  8/8
There is no precedent for the amount of money spent.  If you add it to the money spent on Kloppenburg and Prosser and the money that is from the Citizens United camp it must be somewhere north of $137 million.

That number seems familiar?!  Oh yes that was the number Governor Walker used to claim that the "state is broke."  A few months later Wisconsin had a $600 million dollar surplus even before the so called "budget repair" was passed (as I recall).

8/12 : Governor Walker was on MSNBC this morning talking about the $30 million spent on elections (that could be counted) as if it was bad outside money  ... back in February he thought he was asking the Koch brothers for all of this outside money to support Republicans in the state since what he was forcing them to do was going put his majority in question ... how we spin and spin!!

#wiRecall Stall ... so what's the real impact?

You just have to wonder what this really means?  Does it make it more likely that the Republican Legislature will play a "new collective bargaining game" or less likely.  On the other hand an election in the middle of summer shortly after a major holiday - what impact on turn out does that imply.  The JSOnline: Review of recall petitions going slowly; July 12 election in doubt is interesting but nobody has a clue and as they say it's a tough job.

From the article -
The task before the accountability board has been daunting. According to the board, more than 200,000 signatures submitted on 30,748 pages of petitions had to be analyzed. That doesn't include the challenges, affidavits and rebuttals submitted by the nine recall committees and incumbents.

So you want to know about Kim Simac (recall - I'll run)!

This article from PolitiScoop presents an interesting perspective on her family values!  It also asks some questions about lawsuits and delinquent taxes - some might say irrelevant or that she is just having a tough time in this economy (like so many others).  Does she support open records?

Maybe this is the reason the Republican controlled JFC/Legislature was interested in reducing funding for the Wisconsin Court systems?

State Senator Jim Holperin is defending his northern Wisconsin seat, Senate 12th, in a recall petition mounted by Kim, and now she is running for the slot.

GAB wants extensions to handle RECALLS

TheWheelerReport.com has posted ... GAB. Files motion to reopen, add parties and extend deadlines in recalls.  The GAB link will get the PDF for you to read!

As I read/scan GAB wishes to extend deadlines for its certification Recalls to the end of May (two different dates 23rd, 31st meetings, cert 5/31-6/3)  ... and if everything was accepted then elections would happen on July 12th?!
