Rural Decline -> Irony: Walker adds $1800 to your healthcare costs and gives you $13 Property Tax Break

I don't doubt plenty of people have trouble, especially in rural areas, paying their property tax bill.  That is a problem the "Homestead Tax Credit" was designed to alleviate - does it need expansion.  Many rural areas also lack social infrastructure as well as physical infrastructure.

Why would a family with children want to move to or live in a place with no schools and little immediate access to health care.  Why would a retired person want to live there either - they may be stuck and getting to a doctor is really a major problem?  Why would someone growing up there, spending most of their time beiing bused to school, want to stay there when they can't get a job later; when they can go to a larger community get a job, meet other people their age, and have more of a social life?

Kraig said Wisconsin insurance exchange premiums for a single person are an average of 79 percent to 99 percent higher than premiums in Minnesota, before tax credits are applied. He said the average Wisconsinite will pay $1,800 more annually for health care.

Message to WI congressional Rep Duffy - We all are on ACA, ObamaCare!

Rep. Duffy said on MSNBC Morning Joe (10/16/2013) that we should all be on #ACA including the Congress and the President.  Newsflash - we are!  One of the key provisions is that you get to keep the insurance you have - provided it is up to snuff.

ACA more than anything is an attempt to make it possible for everyone to have healthcare, especially the currently uninsured.

These are my opinions - this is what the GOP and WI Rep. Duffy stands for

• They do not want your children to have coverage on your plan.

• They do not want you to benefit being part of a group and thus qualify for an affordable plan.

• They do not want you to be make choices about medical procedures.

• They do want to mandate certain medical procedures in case you chose something they don't like - ultrasound, vaginal inspections.

• They do want to make certain that certain medical options for procedures do not even exist.

• They do want you to be denied coverage for previously existing conditions.

• They do want you to be excluded retroactively from insurance coverage if they can find any omissions of conditions in your application history.

• They do want you to declare bankruptcy if you have an uninsured medical experience.

Irony : The Lemming Party == GOP == TeaParty

It seems ironic to me that the very "politicians" who value a "strong" leader are out to destroy our President's ability to lead.  What happens if you cave to this brinksmanship.  Small geographic enclaves essentially take over "ruling" the U.S.  It will happen again and again.

Dick and Betsy DeVos, you might remember, are the school privatization activists who donated $250,000 to Walker during his recall campaign. And the American Federation for Children, founded by Betsy DeVos, spent $1.1 million. 

And the Koch brothers? Keeping their fingerprints off political contributions is standard operating procedure. 

This is from a Forbes story from last year that addresses the claim by the Kochs — founders of Americans for Prosperity — that they didn't spend a single dollar on Walker's recall campaign:   

"AFP spent $3 million on ads ahead of the recall as well as providing 75 staffers for door-knocking purposes, encouraging voters to choose Walker. The Wisconsin chapter of AFP also launched a four-day, 10-city bus tour directly preceding Tuesday’s vote and set up a web petition to Stand With Scott Walker."
The backlash against Common Core has moved quickly. The day before Walker made his pronouncement that Common Core standards aren't rigorous enough, Florida Gov. Scott announced that he was backing out  of a consortium developing the new standards.
Both Scott and Walker had previously been on board with the new standards. In January of 2012, the state's Read to Lead task force, of which Walker is the chairman, had this to say about Wisconsin's adoption of Common Core in its report:

Update: 8/8/2013 Now you supposedly won't be!  How can law enforcement be so arbitrary?  What Walker's real message is that he only sees the law as something to be manipulated to suppress those that disagree with hm.

Update 10/12/2013: The very fact that no arrests have taken place for weeks now show how arbitrary the rules were and an abuse of power by Walker.

Tillis changes local state house rules ...and he is running for US Senator - he should look to WI for ideas - I guess!
