The former head of the division of Nuclear Power in the DNR said rollbacks of nuclear power regulations in Gov. Scott Walker's proposed budget could put the state in violation of federal laws.
Walker has proposed reducing standards for nuclear radiation which were set by the Natural Nuclear Resources Board last year.
Gotcha! But what if it were true? Thanks to WiStateJournal and Ron Seely for the inspiration on the front page this morning about Water Quality Standards! Given the problems in Japan I know it's not funny. It will not be funny here in Wisconsin if the legislature continues to concentrate "administrative rule writing" in the hands of Governor Walker. We need checks and balance and public discussion not a head long rush into "faux reform".
